Fitment

1997-2010 GM front-wheel-drive (Buick LeSabre, Pontiac Bonneville, Olds Aurora, Chevy Impala, Buick Lacrosse) with 4T65E.

Common failure symptoms

P0742, no TCC lockup, harsh 3-4 shift, transmission overheating on highway

Electrical / install specs

Normally-open switch.
Closes at ~50 psi.
Resistance check should show open at rest, closed under pressure.

Run a resistance check before condemning. Bad wiring, corroded harness pins, or a failing PCM driver can cause identical symptoms.

Replacement procedure

Drop pan and filter
Locate TCC pressure switch on valve body
Disconnect harness clip
Remove switch (3/4 inch socket)
Lubricate new switch threads with assembly lube
Torque to 12 ft-lbs
Refill with Dexron VI
