What it does

Houses all electronic shift solenoids (A-F) in a single unit. Common failure mode is internal contamination from torque converter clutch material.

Fitment

2009-2017 Ford F-150, Expedition, Mustang, Navigator with 6R80.

Common failure symptoms

P0750, P0775, P0962, harsh shifts, no upshift past 3rd, slipping under load

Electrical specs

Resistance varies by solenoid: 5-14 ohms typical.
Bench-test full assembly with 6R80 specific test set.

Run a resistance check before condemning the solenoid. Bad wiring, corroded harness pins, or a failing PCM driver can cause identical symptoms.

Replacement procedure

Drop pan and filter (gasket reusable on most 6R80)
Remove TCM mounting bracket
Disconnect external harness
Remove 8 bolts holding solenoid body to valve body
Pull solenoid body straight up
Lubricate new gasket with fresh Mercon LV
Torque bolts to 89 in-lbs in cross pattern
Replace filter, gasket, refill with Mercon LV
