Reseals a 66RFE or 68RFE during a rebuild with the gaskets, lip seals, O-rings and sealing rings the overhaul needs on 2007-up Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500.
This is the seal and gasket side of a 66RFE or 68RFE rebuild in one box (WIT part W72002CF). When you have the unit split on the bench, every rubber and paper part that held fluid is worn, hardened, or already leaking, and this kit replaces them so the transmission holds line pressure and stays dry when it goes back in the truck.
It fits the 66RFE and 68RFE automatics behind 2007-and-newer Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 (5.9L and 6.7L Cummins and the gas 5.7L). Inside are the pan gasket, the case and pump gaskets, the clutch drum lip seals, the piston seals, the shaft sealing rings, and the assortment of O-rings the overhaul calls for. Note it does not include the 2WD extension-housing rear seal, so order that separately if you are on a two-wheel-drive case.
Use it during a full teardown: soak the friction plates, air-check each drum after you install the new lip seals, and dress the sealing rings so they seat square in the bore. Getting fresh seals on the accumulator and clutch pistons is what stops the delayed and slipping shifts that send a high-mileage 68RFE to the bench in the first place.
