Raybestos GPZ high-energy 2nd clutch pack for the Dodge Ram 68RFE behind the 6.7L Cummins, four frictions and four steels to hold added torque.
This is a Raybestos GPZ TorqKit for the 2nd clutch pack in the Dodge Ram 68RFE, the six-speed automatic bolted behind the 6.7L Cummins in 2007.5-up 2500 and 3500 trucks. The 2nd clutch is one of the first things to cook on these transmissions once a truck is tuned, towing heavy, or has any miles on it, so this drop-in pack gives you fresh high-energy frictions and matched steels instead of reusing burnt plates during a rebuild.
The kit contains four 2C GPZ friction plates and four 2C steel plates. GPZ is Raybestos' high-energy friction material, which raises the torque the pack can hold and runs cooler than a stock organic clutch, so it holds up better behind added fuel or a bigger converter. It is a direct replacement for the factory 2nd clutch count, made in the USA.
On the bench this goes in while the transmission is apart. Air-check the 2nd clutch drum, soak the new GPZ frictions in clean ATF before you stack them, then alternate steel and friction in the factory order and set your clearance. Confirm your build calls for the 8-plate 2nd count before ordering, since it fits the standard 68RFE 2nd clutch and is the pack people replace when a truck bangs or slips the 1-2 shift or shows a glazed, discolored 2nd clutch on teardown.
