The seven-piece thrust washer and shim set you reach for when you are resetting end play on a 700R4 or 4L60E rebuild. Alloy and carbon steel washers with a bronze finish, sized to the GM spec so the gear train sits where it should.
When you split a 700R4 or 4L60E and pull the geartrain apart, the thrust washers are one of the wear items you never put back used. They set the running clearance between the rotating members, and worn ones show up as excess end play, a flare on the 1-2 shift, and metal in the pan. This kit gives you seven fresh washers so you can button the case back up with the endplay dialed in instead of hoping the old ones are still in spec.
The washers are a mix of alloy, carbon and stainless steel with a bronze wash for corrosion resistance, and they cover the common thrust locations in the GM 700R4 and its electronic 4L60E successor across Chevy and GMC trucks, vans and rear-drive cars. Use them alongside a dial indicator to check endplay as you stack the pump and drum, and add or swap a selective washer until you land inside the service range. It is a small part of a full overhaul, but it is the one that keeps everything else living. Ships from the USA.
