722.6 NAG1 Transmission Overhaul Kit - Mercedes Dodge Jeep

This is the TransTec overhaul kit for the Mercedes 722.6 five-speed automatic, the electronically controlled unit Mercedes ran from the mid-1990s onward and the same gearbox Chrysler licensed and badged as the NAG1 (W5A580). You will find it under the Mercedes C, E, S, ML, CLK and SLK lines, and on the Chrysler side in the 300, Dodge Charger, Magnum and Challenger, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Commander, and the Sprinter van. TransTec kits are made by Freudenberg, so the rubber and sealing hardware is OE-grade rather than generic.

This is a reseal and overhaul set, the parts a 722.6 consumes when it comes apart for a leak or a rebuild. The box holds a molded rubber pan gasket, the K1, K2, K3 and B2 clutch piston seal sub-packs, three metal-clad seals for the torque converter hub, the shifter shaft and the 2WD output shaft, a full set of Teflon and plastic sealing rings, and a small-parts kit of O-rings and check balls. It does not include friction plates, steels, or the conductor plate, which are reused or sourced separately depending on what the teardown finds.

Use it when a 722.6 or NAG1 is leaking at the pan, the converter, or the output seal, or when you are resealing the unit during a valve-body or conductor-plate job.
