A6GF1 6-Speed Transmission Master Rebuild Kit Hyundai Kia

This is a master overhaul kit for the Hyundai and Kia A6GF1 six-speed automatic transaxle, the front-wheel-drive unit behind the smaller four-cylinder cars in the lineup. It fits the 2012-2014 Accent 1.6L, the 2011-2014 Elantra 2.0L and 2.4L, the 2011-2014 Kia Optima 2.0L and 2.4L, the 2012-2014 Soul 1.6L and 2.0L, and the 2011-2014 Sportage 2.0L and 2.4L. It replaces the factory service numbers B212820A, B212880A and W212881A.

Inside the box are the friction clutch plates, the mating steel plates, the full gasket set, and the seals and O-rings needed to reseal the case, pump and drums. This is a soft-parts rebuild kit: it does not include the steel drums, other hard parts, or the valve body. Reuse your good hard parts and drop these frictions, steels and rubber in during reassembly.

The A6GF1 usually lands on the bench for slipping or harsh, delayed engagement once the original frictions glaze over and the case and pump seals harden and start bleeding off line pressure. Fresh clutch material and new seals bring back holding capacity and clean up the shift quality. Soak the frictions in ATF before assembly, lube the seals and O-rings with assembly gel so they seat without rolling, and set your clutch clearances to spec as you stack each pack.
