The small-case Chrysler TorqueFlite - the A904 and its relatives the A998, A999, 30RH, 32RH and diesel TF6 - is the light-duty three-speed automatic that sat behind slant-sixes and small-block V8s in Darts, Dusters, Valiants, Aspens, Volares, Ramchargers, Dakotas, early Cherokees and Wranglers, and plenty of AMC and Plymouth iron from 1972 up. When one of these starts slipping in a gear, flaring on the 1-2, or leaving fluid on the floor, the fix is a full teardown and reseal, and this kit carries everything the bench job needs in one box.

Inside you get the friction clutch plates and steel plates for the drums, a Kevlar-lined kickdown band that holds up better than the stock band under repeated apply, a new filter, a complete bushing set, and a full Transtec gasket and seal kit - the pan gasket, all the O-rings, the metal-clad lip seals, and the sealing rings. That is the same parts list a shop pulls off the shelf to overhaul one of these units, packaged so you are not chasing individual seals mid-rebuild.
