Complete overhaul, friction and steel plate kit to rebuild the Aisin A960E 6-speed in a Lexus IS250, IS300 or GS300 after slipping or a burnt clutch pack.
This is the master kit for a full A960E rebuild. The A960E is the Aisin six-speed rear-wheel-drive automatic behind the 2.5L and 3.0L/3.5L V6 in the Lexus IS250, IS300 and GS300 from 2005 through 2017. When one of these units starts slipping in a gear, flaring on the 3-4 shift, or dropping into limp mode after a burnt clutch pack, the frictions, steels and every soft part get replaced together, and that is exactly what is in the box.
The kit ships as three sets: the overhaul kit (all gaskets, lip seals, sealing rings and the pan gasket), a full friction clutch plate set, and the matching steel plate set. Lay the frictions out, soak them in ATF before assembly, and stack them against the new steels so each clutch pack comes up to the correct clearance. The seals cover the pistons, the pump and the drum sealing rings that harden and leak with age and heat.
Fitment is the 6-speed A960E only: Lexus IS250 2.5L 2006-2015, IS250 C convertible 2010-2015, IS300 3.0L 2005, IS300 3.5L 2016-2017, and GS300 3.0L 2005-2006. Confirm your transmission is the A960E before ordering; the six-speed RWD units share a family but do not share plates. OE reference A960E / A960.
Fluid is not included. These units run Toyota WS (Type WS) automatic transmission fluid, so plan to fill and set level to spec after the rebuild.
