This is the internal spin-off suction filter for the GM 8L45 and 8L90 eight-speed automatics, sold as GM Genuine Parts number 24274402 and cross-referenced as ACDelco TF922. It is the same filter General Motors installs on the line, so it seats correctly against the valve body and pan without the fitment guesswork you get from no-name replacements. It pulls fluid up from the pan and traps the metal shavings and clutch material that would otherwise circulate through the pump and valve body.

It fits the RPO M5U and M5T 8-speed units found under a wide range of 2015-and-up GM trucks and cars: Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500, Yukon and Yukon XL, Tahoe and Suburban, Escalade, Camaro, Corvette, Colorado and Canyon, plus the Cadillac ATS, CTS, CT4, and CT6. On the bench the job is straightforward: drop the pan, let it drain, pull the old filter straight down off the valve body, and press the new one up into the bore until the seal seats. Note the small flat spring on the back face that bears against the pan floor, so bring the pan up with light, even pressure to compress it as you start the bolts. Refill with the correct 8L45/8L90 spec fluid and set the level at the specified fluid temperature.
