AODE / 4R70W / 4R75W Heavy-Duty Lockup Torque Converter

Heavy-duty replacement torque converter for the Ford AODE, 4R70W, 4R70E, 4R75W and 4R75E automatic transmissions. It uses the 31-spline turbine hub and the 11.44-inch, four-stud bolt circle that bolts to the factory flexplate, and it carries the electronic lockup (TCC) clutch these transmissions run. Every unit is remanufactured to OEM specifications or better and ships with a one-year limited warranty.

Fitment covers a wide spread of rear-wheel-drive Ford, Mercury and Lincoln applications: the AODE from 1992 up, the 4R70W from 1993 to 2008, and the 4R75W/4R75E from 2004 on. That puts it under the Mustang, Crown Victoria, F-150, E-150, Explorer, Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car among others. A tired converter is what you feel as lockup shudder at cruise, a converter clutch that slips and spikes transmission temperature, or gray metallic fluid from a worn stator bearing or bushing. When you rebuild the transmission, the converter has to be replaced or properly cleaned and rebuilt at the same time, or the debris trapped inside the old unit washes straight back into your fresh clutches and valve body. Install this one with the rebuild and you close that loop.

Unit weighs 44 lb and ships filled and balanced from the USA. Prime the converter with ATF and seat it fully onto the pump before bolting the transmission to the engine.
