AODE 4R70W 4R75W Sonnax Sure Cure Valve Body Kit

This is the Sonnax Sure Cure kit (part SC-AODE-1) for the Ford AODE and the 4R70W, 4R75W and 4R75E that followed it, 1996 and newer. It bundles the wear-point valve body and pump parts that cause the common complaints on these units into one box, so you address the actual failures instead of just cleaning and reassembling worn bores.

It targets the problems these transmissions are known for: overdrive band failure, diagnostic code 628, torque converter clutch shudder, no lockup, high or low line pressure, and weak reverse boost. The valve body and pump parts include an oversized pressure regulator valve, a P.R. boost sleeve and valve, a bypass clutch control valve and sleeve, a 2-3 shift valve end plug, a solenoid regulator valve clip, and an overdrive servo pin. Reassembly hardware covers the intermediate clutch spiral snap ring plus Teflon sealing rings for the direct drum, input shaft, and forward drum.

Use it on the bench during a rebuild or a valve body recondition. Ream the pressure regulator and boost bores to the Sonnax spec, drop in the new valves and sleeves, set the overdrive servo pin, and refit the Teflon rings on the drums as you stack the unit. Read the included instructions before you start, since not every fix applies to an in-frame valve body drop; several of these parts only go in with the transmission apart.
