Honda B7WA BAYA BYBA M7WA V6 Master Rebuild Kit

This is a complete master overhaul kit for the Honda and Acura V6 five-speed automatic, the transaxle built on the CM6 case and known internally by the control codes B7WA, BAYA, BYBA, M7WA, PVGA and BGRA. It covers the 3.0L and 3.5L V6 cars from roughly 2001 through 2007: Accord V6, Odyssey, Pilot, and the Acura CL, TL and MDX. Match your unit by the code stamped on the case or the vehicle year and engine before ordering, since Honda ran several close variants side by side.

The kit includes 27 friction plates, 27 steel plates, the full gasket and overhaul seal set, o-rings, and the shaft sealing rings. That is everything the case gives up during a rebuild except the hard parts and the torque converter. These transmissions are the ones Honda extended warranties on: they cook the second and third clutch packs and burn the lockup lining in the converter, so the usual complaints are slipping or flare in 2nd and 3rd, a hard or delayed 1-2, and a shudder on lockup that feels like a rough road.

On the bench, soak the new frictions in ATF for at least fifteen minutes before assembly, air-check each clutch pack as you build it, and set clutch clearance to spec with the steels the kit supplies. Replace every sealing ring on the shafts and the main pump o-rings while you are in there, since a single worn ring drops apply pressure and puts you right back on the bench. Pair it with a fresh filter and only Honda-spec ATF on refill.
