JEGS Ford C4 Transmission Master Rebuild Kit, 1970-1981

Everything you need to tear down and rebuild a Ford C4 three-speed automatic in one box. This is JEGS part 62108, an all-in-one master overhaul kit for the C4 (the Cruise-O-Matic case that lived behind Ford small blocks like the 289, 302, and 351W in Mustangs, Falcons, Fairlanes, F-100s, and Broncos from 1970 through 1981). Instead of chasing a gasket set from one supplier and frictions from another, you get the whole job here.

The kit includes the high-energy friction clutch plates and steel clutch plates, the intermediate band, the front and rear bushings, the filter, and the full soft-parts set: all paper gaskets, the pan gasket, rubber O-rings, rubber lip seals, metal-clad seals, and the Teflon sealing rings. In short, every wearing part that comes out when the case is split gets replaced with new.

On the bench this is the kit you lay out before the teardown: soak the frictions in ATF, press the new bushings into the pump and tailshaft, cut the band clearance to spec, reseal the servo and accumulator, install the pump and drum lip seals without curling them, and reassemble with a fresh filter so the rebuild starts clean. It solves the two things that put a C4 on the bench in the first place, slipping clutches and a burnt band from old fluid and worn frictions, and gets a high-mileage or freshly cracked-open C4 back to firm, full-apply shifts.

Note: the C4 used more than one clutch-pack count over its production run, so before final assembly count the frictions and steels against your drums and order an extra plate if your particular unit runs an additional disc. Made in the USA.
