Torque converter shudder is that rhythmic shake or vibration you feel when the converter clutch locks up, usually between about 25 and 50 mph under light throttle. It feels like driving over rumble strips, and it comes from the lockup clutch grabbing and slipping instead of holding smoothly against the converter. Lubegard's Instant Shudder Fixx is a concentrated friction modifier built to stop exactly that. You squeeze the full 2 oz tube into the transmission through the dipstick tube or the fill plug, drive it a few miles to circulate, and in most cases the shudder is gone the same day.

The formula is a synthetic ester friction modifier concentrated roughly five times over what is already blended into the fluid. It restores the correct friction characteristic at the converter clutch so the clutch engages and holds without the stick-slip that causes the shake. It mixes with whatever automatic transmission fluid is already in the unit, conventional or synthetic, so there is no need to drain or flush first. Use it in any automatic transmission fluid EXCEPT Ford Type F and CVT fluids, which it is not compatible with. It is a common first move on GM trucks running the 6L80 and 6L90, on Honda and Acura automatics, and on older Ford and GM units that develop a lockup shudder as the fluid ages.
