Motorcraft Mercon LV ATF 5-Quart Jug - Ford 6R80 6F35

This is genuine Motorcraft Mercon LV automatic transmission fluid in the factory 5-quart jug (Ford part number XT-10-5Q3LV). Mercon LV is the low-viscosity ATF Ford and Lincoln spec for most of their modern automatics, and using the correct fluid matters here: these units run tight clutch clearances and pressure-controlled shift solenoids that were calibrated around Mercon LV friction and viscosity. Substituting a generic ATF is the fastest way to end up with harsh 1-2 shifts, torque converter shudder, or a delayed engagement.

It covers the Ford 6R80 and 6F35 six-speeds, the 6F50/6F55, and the older 6R60/6R75, plus many 2007-and-up Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury cars, trucks, and SUVs that call for Mercon LV. For a full fluid exchange most techs run two of these through the cooler lines. Fill through the transmission dipstick or the fill plug, bring the fluid up to the checking temperature window (usually 85-125 F), and level it off with the engine running and the selector cycled through the gears.
