Bearing, seal, and gasket overhaul kit for the Dodge NV4500 5-speed behind 1992-2006 Cummins and V8 trucks, built with Japanese Nachi and Koyo bearings.
A complete bearing and seal overhaul kit for the New Venture NV4500 5-speed manual, the heavy-duty transmission Dodge ran behind the 5.9L Cummins and the V8 gas trucks from 1992 through 2006. You can confirm you have an NV4500 by the case casting number stamped on the main housing: C18157 or C23167. This is the BK308A kit.
Inside the kit are all new main bearings from Nachi, Koyo, and NSK, plus the input and output shaft seals, the adapter housing gasket, and the small parts needed to close the case back up. The bearings are what wear out first on a high-mile NV4500: a dry or pitted mainshaft or countershaft bearing is what you hear as a rising whine in the lower gears, and worn bearing preload is what lets the gears walk and pop out under load.
Use it when you have the transmission on the bench and the case split. Press the old races out, seat the new bearings, set your preload with the correct shim stack, and reseal the front and rear. Doing the bearings and seals as a set is the only way to get the transmission quiet and keep it that way, instead of chasing one noise at a time.
This is a bearing, seal, and gasket kit; it does not include synchro rings or gears. Ships from the USA, handling in 1-2 business days.
