The OEMTOOLS 24831 is a 3/4-ton engine leveler that hangs between your shop crane hook and the powertrain. A worm-drive screw shaft lets you tilt the load nose-down or nose-up under control, so you can walk an engine or transmission past the core support, fan shroud and firewall instead of fighting a dead-straight vertical lift.
You attach it to the lifting points with the four-point mounting system and pick one of three chain positions to match how the engine or trans hangs. Once it is on the hook, you turn the center screw to move the balance point and set the tilt angle. That is what gets the back of the block to drop so the input shaft or bellhousing lines up on the way in, and it holds the angle while you guide it onto the mounts.
It is built for engine and transmission removal and installation on cars and light trucks. The frame is steel and the unit is rated at 1,500 lb (3/4 ton). Model and manufacturer part number 24831. The leveler works with any standard shop crane or cherry picker hook; it does not include the crane.
