Full synthetic ATF+4 fluid meeting Chrysler MS-9602 for Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Chrysler automatics that require ATF+4; six 1-quart bottles per case.
Pennzoil Platinum ATF+4 is a full synthetic automatic transmission fluid licensed to the Chrysler MS-9602 standard, the current FCA/Stellantis ATF+4 specification. It ships as a case of six 1-quart bottles under Pennzoil part number 550042074, which is enough to cover a pan-and-filter service on most Chrysler-family automatics with a little left over for topping off.
This is the correct fluid for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram automatics that call for ATF+4, including units like the 42RLE, 45RFE, 545RFE, 65RFE, 66RFE, 68RFE and 62TE, as well as the older A604/41TE. ATF+4 is backward compatible with ATF+3 and ATF+2, so it also covers earlier Mopar automatics that originally specified those fluids. Do not substitute Dexron or Mercon in an ATF+4 transmission; the friction requirement is different and the wrong fluid brings on converter shudder and harsh, hunting shifts.
Because it is a full synthetic, it holds its viscosity and friction characteristics through repeated heat cycles better than the older mineral-based fluids. That stability is what keeps the torque converter clutch from shuddering at lockup and the shifts crisp as the fluid gets miles on it. On a normal service you drop the pan, change the filter, and refill to the dipstick or fill-plug spec with the engine warm.
A case of six quarts covers a typical pan drop and filter change on a Chrysler-family automatic. A full flush or filling a dry converter and cooler after a rebuild will take more than one case, so plan volume to your job. Each bottle is one US quart; six bottles per case.
