Sonnax 48RE-ZIP Valve Body Zip Kit for Dodge 48RE

The 48RE-ZIP is Sonnax's valve body repair kit for the Dodge/Chrysler 48RE (the heavy-duty 47RE/48RE family behind the 5.9L and 6.7L Cummins and the V10). Aluminum valve bodies wear at the bores over miles and heat, and that wear bleeds off line and throttle pressure. The result is the complaints these trucks are known for: soft or slipping shifts, a lazy or missing 3-4 shift, converter clutch shudder, and burnt clutches from low apply pressure. This kit seals those leak paths back up instead of just swapping solenoids and hoping.

Every part is a drop-in Zip valve — no reaming, no line boring, and no special tools. You install them with the valve body on the bench during a rebuild or a governor/solenoid job. The kit also includes a new OE separator plate, so any prior plate modifications or worn checkball seats get reset to correct operation.
