A set of heavy-duty, reusable adapters for tapping into the pressure test ports on a continuously variable transmission so you can put a real gauge on it. The reason you need CVT-specific adapters is pressure. A geared automatic lives in the 60-250 PSI range, but a CVT holds the belt on the pulleys hydraulically and normal working line pressure runs 500-800 PSI, spiking higher under load. That means you cannot use an ordinary trans pressure gauge or rubber hose. Superior recommends running two gauges, one around 1000 PSI and one in the 1500-2000 PSI range, on steel-reinforced hose rated for at least a 3000 PSI burst. Thread the correct adapter into the case port, connect your high-pressure gauge, and read actual line pressure at idle and through a road test.
This is how you separate a real hydraulic fault from a shift-quality complaint on a CVT. If a customer has judder, slipping, or a stored pressure code, live line-pressure numbers tell you whether the pump, pressure control solenoid, or a leaking circuit is the problem before you ever open the unit.
