TransGo 62TE-HP tuneless reprogramming kit that raises 62TE line pressure about 26% to cure clutch failure, TCC shudder, delayed engagement, and overheating on 2007-up Chrysler/Dodge vans.
The 62TE is the six-speed transaxle behind the 3.6L and 3.8L V6 in the Dodge Grand Caravan, Chrysler Town & Country, Journey, Avenger, Sebring, Nitro, Ram C/V, and ProMaster City. It runs on the low side of the pressure curve from the factory, and in stop-and-go delivery duty that shows up as burned 2-4 and underdrive clutches, torque converter clutch slip and shudder, drain-back after it sits, delayed or missing engagements, and a transmission that runs hot. This is the TransGo 62TE-HP kit, part number 62TE-HP, that addresses those failures without a tuner or a laptop.
It is a tuneless reprogramming kit: the recalibrated pressure regulator valve and spring take line pressure from the stock 60-135 psi up to 75-169 psi, roughly a 26 percent increase, so the clutches and the TCC get the holding capacity they need while the shifts stay short and clean at every throttle position. A revised torque converter limit valve system controls converter apply, and a USA-made billet 2-4 accumulator with new springs and three sealing rings is redesigned to seal on an unworn part of the bore, closed-end and middle rings, so the pressure it builds does not bleed off.
The kit is a bench install during a rebuild or valve body service. In the box: the hardened steel PR valve and calibration spring, the torque converter limit valve parts, the billet 2-4 accumulator with springs and rings, five high-temperature accumulator seals with expanders for aluminum pistons plus a self-expanding underdrive seal and expander wire, a drill jig with drill bit and a precision-orificed cup plug, a heavier-duty snap ring for the 2-4 piston, and a non-shrinking low/reverse piston housing gasket. Follow the included TransGo instructions for the drill locations.
Fits 2007-on 62TE units. It works with a stock or rebuilt valve body and is the durability step most shops add when a 62TE comes across the bench for a comeback or a preventive rebuild.
