Full master rebuild kit for the 02E DQ250 6-speed wet DSG in VW and Audi: friction plates, steels, pistons, seals and gaskets for a complete overhaul.
This is a complete master rebuild kit for the 02E DQ250, the six-speed wet-clutch DSG that Volkswagen and Audi have run since 2004 behind the 1.8T, 2.0T, and TDI engines. You will find it under the GTI, GLI, Jetta, Passat, Golf R, Tiguan, and CC on the VW side, and the A3, TT, and Q3 on the Audi side, plus the shared Skoda and Seat platforms. It is a three-part set: the overhaul (soft parts) kit, the friction kit, and the steel kit, so it covers a full teardown rather than just a reseal. Manufacturer part number B198820A+Y198880A+W198881A.
Inside the box are the friction clutch plates and the matching steels, the bonded pistons and lip seals, the O-rings and sealing rings, the thrust washers, and the gasket set. Transnation builds the frictions and steels as a matched stack, which is what keeps the clutch clearances and the dynamic-versus-static friction numbers where the DQ250 wants them so the K1 and K2 clutches grab clean instead of shuddering. This kit does not include the mechatronic unit or the external oil filter; order the DQ250 filter and fresh DSG fluid at the same time.
Pull this kit when a DQ250 is shuddering on take-off, slipping or flaring between gears, throwing clutch-adaptation or pressure faults, or coming apart with burnt fluid after a neglected service interval. Soak the new frictions in clean DSG fluid before you stack them, set the clutch pack clearances as you assemble, and always replace the external filter and refill with the correct VW spec wet-DSG fluid, then run the basic settings and clutch adaptation on a scan tool before road testing.
