This is a full master rebuild kit for the Mercedes-Benz 722.6 five-speed automatic (also carried as the NAG1/W5A-580 in Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler applications, OE number 722.605). It gives you the friction plates, steel plates, gaskets, sealing rings and the transmission oil filter needed to take a worn 722.6 all the way back to a clean rebuild in one box, instead of chasing individual part numbers.
Fitment covers a wide 722.6 range: Mercedes C-Class (W202/W203/W204), E-Class (W210/W211/W212), S-Class (W140/W220/W221), CLK, CLS and SL, roughly 1996 through 2014, plus Dodge, Freightliner and Mercedes Sprinter 2500/3500 vans from 2002-2010. Always match your transmission stamp to the 722.6 family before ordering, since Mercedes ran several valve-body and clutch-count variants across those years.
On the bench this is what goes in after you have the case split, the drums cleaned and the bushings and bearings checked. Soak the new frictions in ATF before assembly, set your clutch clearances per the drum, and reuse the kit gaskets and sealing rings on final buildup. The filter drops in with the pan gasket at the end. Hard parts (drums, pistons, pump, valve body) are not included and are reused or replaced separately.
