This is a roll-under (horizontal) transmission jack for pulling and installing an automatic or manual transmission with the vehicle up on a lift or ramps. The tilting universal saddle cradles the pan, you strap the case down with the safety chain, and the hydraulic ram lowers the whole unit out from under the car in a controlled way instead of wrestling it on a floor jack and a block of wood.
Lift range runs from 6.7 in fully down to 26.4 in at full extension, so it clears a low-slung pan on a two-post lift and still reaches up into the tunnel of a truck. The saddle head tilts fore and aft and rotates to match the transmission's angle as it comes off the dowels, which is what keeps fluid and the torque converter from dumping when you break it loose. Rated for 1,000 lb (1/2 ton), it handles common RWD automatics like the 4L60E, 4L80E, and 6L80 as well as most manual gearboxes and transfer cases.
The frame is powder-coated alloy steel with a reinforced wide base and four 360-degree steel swivel casters so you can walk the transmission out from under the vehicle and roll it to the bench. A built-in overload bypass keeps you from lifting past the rated capacity, and the 360-degree handle lets you pump and steer from either side. Note this is a heavy tool at roughly 86 lb shipped in a crate; plan for a second set of hands on delivery and assembly of the casters.
