U340E/U341E Toyota Master Rebuild Kit, Sienna/Corolla

The U340E and U341E are Toyota's compact four-speed automatic transaxles, built by Aisin and used across the small and midsize front-wheel-drive Toyota line. This is a master (overhaul) kit: it carries the wear parts you replace to rebuild the unit, including the friction clutch plates, the steel reaction plates, the molded rubber piston lip seals, the full O-ring and square-cut sealing set, the sealing rings, and the pan and valve-body separator gaskets. Known applications are the 2000-2005 Echo 1.5L, 2006-2011 Yaris 1.5L, 2003-2010 Sienna 3.0/3.3/3.5L, and 2009 Corolla 1.8L. You reach for this kit once the transaxle is out, on the bench, and torn down. A U340E/U341E that flares between gears, slips on the 2-3 shift, or has gone soft on line pressure usually has cooked friction material and hardened seals. Every friction and steel in the clutch packs gets replaced, the piston lip seals get renewed so the clutches apply crisply instead of dragging, and the case, pump, and valve body get resealed with fresh gaskets and O-rings so the unit holds pressure and stops weeping at the pan.

Included are the clutch frictions and steels, the molded piston seals, the complete O-ring and sealing-ring set, and the pan and separator-plate gaskets, which is everything a standard soft-parts rebuild needs. It does not include the torque converter, the filter, bushings, bearings, or hard parts such as drums and planetaries, so inspect your teardown and order those separately where wear shows.
