U660E/U660F Transmission Master Rebuild Kit, Toyota/Lexus

The U660E and its all-wheel-drive sibling the U660F are the Aisin-built six-speed front-wheel-drive transaxles Toyota ran behind the 2GR 3.5L V6 and later 2.5L fours starting in 2006. You find them in the Camry, Avalon, Highlander, Sienna and Venza and in the Lexus ES350 and RX350. When one comes across the bench it is usually in for 2-3 flare or shudder on the lockup apply, a burnt underdrive or B1 brake pack, or delayed engagement from clutch clearance that has walked out of spec. This kit gives you the wear parts to put the unit back to stock clearance in one box.

Inside are the full friction and steel plate sets for the clutch and brake packs, the complete overhaul gasket and seal set, the rubberized bonded pistons, sealing rings, the o-rings and metal-clad seals, and the bushings and thrust washers a full teardown consumes. It is a master-level kit, so it covers a clutch-and-seal rebuild but does not include hard parts, the valve body, the pump, or the torque converter. Reuse those after you inspect them, or source them separately if they are damaged.

Bench notes for the U660: air-check every clutch pack after assembly before the valve body goes back on, set the B1 and underdrive clutch clearance to the factory spec with a dial indicator rather than by feel, and prime a new or reworked torque converter before you spin the unit up. These transaxles are sensitive to lockup shudder, so replace the converter or flush the cooler circuit if the fluid came out brown. Ships from the USA.
