UA80E/UA80F 8-Speed Master Rebuild Kit - Toyota Lexus

This is a full teardown-and-rebuild set for the Aisin UA80E and UA80F eight-speed automatic, the front-wheel-drive UA80E and all-wheel-drive UA80F units that Toyota and Lexus run behind their 3.5-liter V6. It bundles three separate kits into one box: the overhaul kit (gaskets, rubber rings, sealing rings, and thrust washers), the friction kit (clutch plates), and the steel plate kit. Manufacturer part reference is W197820D + B197880D + W197881D.

When one of these 8-speeds comes across the bench it is usually for slipping in the higher gears, harsh or delayed engagement, or debris in the pan after a burnt clutch pack. Doing the job right means every friction, every steel, and every seal comes out and goes back in new. That is what this kit is built around, so you are not reusing a glazed friction or a hardened lip seal and going back in a month later.

The frictions are cut to increase disc surface area and run a matched dynamic and static friction coefficient against the supplied steels, which keeps the packs from slipping and heat-checking the steels during apply. Seals and rubber rings are rated for the high fluid temperatures these transaxles see in AWD crossovers under load.
