Bearing and synchronizer ring rebuild kit for the Dodge NV5600 six-speed behind the 5.9L Cummins, covering the shaft bearings and blocker rings.
The NV5600 is New Venture Gear's cast-iron-case six-speed manual, the transmission Dodge bolted behind the 5.9L Cummins and the gas V8/V10 in Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks from 1999 through 2005. High mileage and hard towing wear the shaft bearings first. You hear it as a rolling growl in the lower gears, then feel notchy, grinding shifts as the synchronizer rings give up.
This is USA Standard's ZMBK492 kit for the aluminum-bellhousing NV5600. It carries the tapered and roller bearings for the input, output, and countershaft plus the synchronizer (blocker) rings, so the wear parts come in one box when the case is open on the bench. Note it does not include needle bearings. Check yours during teardown and add them separately if they are worn.
Run it on a full teardown: press off the old bearings, install the new synchro rings during reassembly, and set your endplay to spec. Fits the 1999-2005 Dodge Ram NV5600 six-speed. Confirm your unit is the cast-iron-case NV5600 and not the NV4500 five-speed before ordering.
