Ford T19 4-Speed Bearing, Seal & Synchro Rebuild Kit

This is the full teardown kit for a Ford T19 four-speed manual, USA Standard Gear part number ZMBK146AWS. It covers the version with the 11-7/8 inch cast iron main case, the 6-bolt cast iron top cover, and the PTO opening on the right hand side at the front of the case. Cases marked T19 or 1309 are the ones this fits. The T19 shows up behind Ford truck and Bronco drivetrains and in plenty of swap builds, and it uses tapered input and output bearings that get noisy long before anything else in the box does.

What you get is the wear set: tapered input and output shaft bearings, countershaft and reverse idler needle bearings, the seals, and the synchronizer rings. That is the parts list for a standard rebuild, so you are not chasing individual bearing numbers at three different counters while the case sits open on the bench.

Typical job order: pull the top cover, drive the countershaft out the back and drop the cluster, pull the input with the bearing retainer off, then press the main shaft apart. Replace every synchro ring while it is open even if only second gear is balking, because a worn ring on one gear usually means the rest are close behind. Set the tapered bearings to spec with shims on reassembly rather than guessing at preload.

This is the fix for a T19 that whines in gear, growls in neutral, grinds on the 2-3 shift, or leaks at the front bearing retainer. If your case is aluminum, has a 4-bolt cover, or measures shorter than 11-7/8 inches, it is not a T19 and this kit is not the one.
