6F50 Valve Body Solenoid Module for Ford Edge Explorer

This is the solenoid body that bolts to the valve body inside the Ford 6F50 and 6F55 six-speed automatic. OE number AA5P-7Z369-AA, superseding DA8P-7G391-AA and DA8P-7G391-AB. It covers 2007-2018 Ford Edge, Explorer, Flex and Taurus and the Lincoln MKS, MKT, MKX and MKZ built with the 6F50 or the wider-ratio 6F55. It is the solenoid bank only - the TCM is a separate part and is not included, so your existing control module stays in the car.

The 6F50 fails in a predictable pattern. The pressure control and shift solenoids drift out of spec as the bores wear and the fluid picks up clutch material, and the symptoms show up as a hard 1-2 or 2-3 bang, a flare between gears, a long delay when you drop it into drive on a cold morning, or a P0750-series solenoid performance code with the wrench light on the dash. Once a solenoid is sticking, no amount of fluid and filter work fixes it - the bank has to come out.

Bench work is straightforward. Drop the pan and filter, unplug the internal harness at the module, pull the bolts holding the solenoid body to the valve body, and lift it out square so you do not bend the harness pins. Transfer nothing - this unit ships complete and tested. Torque the bolts evenly working from the center out, reconnect the harness, and refill with MERCON LV only. After the swap, clear codes and run the transmission adaptive relearn so the TCM re-tables its shift pressures against the new solenoids; skipping the relearn is why a good module can still feel harsh for the first fifty miles.

This unit is remanufactured and function tested before it ships. If your scan tool shows solenoid electrical faults on more than one circuit, or the shifts are erratic across the whole gear range, the bank is the correct repair rather than chasing individual solenoids.
