ACDelco Dexron ULV ATF for GM 10-Speed Automatics, 1 Quart

This is GM's factory Dexron ULV (Ultra Low Viscosity) automatic transmission fluid, ACDelco part 10-4107, GM number 19352619. It is the fluid the modern GM 10-speed automatics were designed around, and it is a thinner grade than Dexron VI. The two are not interchangeable: putting Dexron VI in a unit that calls for ULV raises the fluid viscosity the pump and valve body have to move, which can soften shifts and hurt fuel economy, and running ULV in an older Dexron VI transmission is just as wrong. Match the spec on the fill plug or in the owner's manual before you pour.

ULV is the correct fill for the GM 10L80, 10L90, and Allison-built 10-speed automatics found behind the 3.0L LM2 and 6.6L L5P Duramax and gas engines in 2020-and-newer Silverado and Sierra 1500, 2500HD, and 3500HD trucks, along with other late GM 10-speed applications. Check your specific transmission tag, because GM ran more than one ULV-family fluid across these years.

These transmissions have no dipstick and a sealed, thermostatic fill procedure. A proper service is a drop-the-pan, change the filter, refill through the check plug, then bring the unit into the temperature window GM specifies and set the level off the check port with the engine running. Getting the level and temperature right matters more on these units than on an old three-speed, so work to the service manual numbers rather than eyeballing it.
