Allstar ALL68534 is a complete ring and pinion installation kit for Dana-Spicer Model 60 and Model 61 differentials built from 1966 to 1998. That covers the Dana 60 rears and fronts found under 3/4 and 1 ton trucks of that period as well as the Dana 60 used in muscle cars.
The kit includes pinion bearings, side (carrier) bearings, pinion seal, pinion depth shims, adjustable carrier shims, crush sleeve, pinion nut, a one ounce tube of silicone, gear marking compound and ring gear bolts. Everything that has to be replaced during a gear change is in one box.
Dana 60s get re-geared when bigger tires go on or a heavy trailer comes into play. Set pinion depth with the shims, crush the new sleeve to preload, then shim the carrier for backlash and preload and check the pattern. A Dana 60 carrier needs a case spreader to install correctly, so plan for that on the bench. Backed by a 90-day limited factory warranty.
