If you have ever tried to service a Mercedes 9G-Tronic transmission, you already know the pain: the dealer filler adapter is molded plastic, it strips or splits the first time you lean on it, and a replacement is not cheap. One word of caution the pros repeat: the tools are metal and tough, but the transmission pan itself is plastic. Snug the adapter, do not crank on it, and you will get a clean, leak-free service every time.
