Two-channel 100MHz handheld scope for reading shift solenoid PWM, speed sensor waveforms and CAN bus faults right at the vehicle.
The 1013D Plus is a two-channel, 100 MHz handheld scope with a 7-inch capacitive touch screen and a 6000 mAh battery, so it goes to the vehicle instead of the vehicle coming to a bench. On transmission work the two channels are what matter: you can put channel one on a shift solenoid feed and channel two on the input or output speed sensor and watch both at the same time, which is how you separate an electrical fault from a mechanical one.
Typical jobs it covers: capturing the PWM duty cycle on a pressure control solenoid (4L60E, 4L80E, 6L80, 68RFE, 10R80) to confirm the TCM is actually commanding current rather than the solenoid being open; reading the AC or Hall-effect waveform off an input and output speed sensor to catch a dropout that only shows up under load and never sets a hard code; checking a TCC solenoid for a shorted winding by watching the current ramp; and looking at CAN High and CAN Low together to spot a shorted or noisy bus before you condemn a control module. At 1 GSa/s and 240 kbit record depth it resolves solenoid switching edges cleanly at normal automotive frequencies.
Input impedance is 1 M ohm with AC/DC coupling, vertical sensitivity from 50 mV/div to 500 V/div, and a timebase from 10 nS/div to 50 S/div. Trigger modes are auto, normal and single - single-shot is the one you want for an intermittent, since it arms and captures the event while you drive. Maximum test voltage is 40 V on the 1X probe and 400 V on 10X; the included P4100 100X probe extends that for high-voltage work. Built-in high-voltage protection tolerates a continuous 400 V.
The box includes the scope, two switchable 1X/10X 100 MHz probes, the P4100 100X high-voltage probe, a USB-C cable, charger and printed English manual. There is 1 GB of onboard storage for up to 1000 screenshots and 1000 waveform sets, and USB export so you can pull captures off for a repair order. Note that the supplied charging cable is power only - use a USB-C data cable if you want to transfer files to a PC. Runtime is roughly 4 hours off the internal battery.
