iCarsoft MB V2.0 Mercedes-Benz Full System Scan Tool

The iCarsoft MB V2.0 is a Mercedes-only handheld scanner, not a generic code reader. Plug it into the 16-pin OBD2 port on a 1996-up Mercedes-Benz, Sprinter, Smart or Maybach and it walks the full module list rather than stopping at the engine: TCM, ECM, SRS, ABS/ESP, suspension, instrument cluster, door modules, Parktronic, steering column and electronic selector. On an S-Class W220 that is 62 separate control units. Sprinter coverage runs the 901-906 and 907/910 chassis plus Vito/Viano 638 and 639, Citan 415/420 and Vaneo.

For transmission work, the value is the TCM side. It reads and clears stored and pending codes out of the transmission control unit and streams live data including transmission oil temperature, engine RPM, coolant temp and MAF, graphed on screen. That is how you confirm a 722.6 or 722.9 complaint before you pull the pan: watch the temperature climb during a road test, catch an intermittent solenoid code that has already dropped the light, and re-scan after the repair to make sure nothing came back. AutoVIN pulls the chassis and model so you are not guessing which system list applies.

Nine reset services are included: oil service reset and ASSYST reinitialize, EPB retract and calibration, ABS bleeding, steering angle sensor calibration, BMS battery registration, injector coding, TPMS reset, DPF regeneration and electronic throttle relearn. The throttle relearn covers the teach-in steps for the throttle valve actuator and intake port shutoff motor on select chassis, which is the kind of sub-function most generic scanners skip entirely. Updates are free over the built-in Wi-Fi and there is no annual subscription.

One fitment note that catches people out: pre-2003 Mercedes chassis including the W202 C-Class, W210 E-Class, W140 S-Class, W208 CLK, R170 SLK and R129 SL use a 38-pin round diagnostic connector, not the 16-pin OBD2 port. Those cars need the iCarsoft 38-pin adapter, which is a separate item and is not in this box. Coverage also varies by model and build - not every chassis carries every module or every reset.
