Ram 1500 Front Driveshaft Assembly 938-095 8-Speed 4WD

This is a complete front driveshaft assembly for the 2013-2018 Ram 1500 and the 2019-2023 Ram 1500 Classic with four-wheel drive and the 8-speed automatic (845RE/8HP70). It is listed for gas engines only and does not fit the EcoDiesel. It replaces Mopar 52123639AA and cross-references to Dorman 938-095 and 65-3027.

The shaft is steel with a painted finish, balanced at the factory, with the slip section pre-lubricated. It runs between the transfer case output and the front differential pinion flange.

Replace the front shaft when a joint is clicking or loose, when the boot on the slip section has torn and the splines are dry or rusted, or when you feel a vibration that only shows up in 4WD. A clunk when you engage 4WD or come on and off the throttle in 4WD is another common sign. The listing is specific to 8-speed trucks, so confirm the transmission before you order.

To install, mark the flanges, support the shaft, remove the bolts at the transfer case and front axle flanges, and pull the old shaft out. Bolt the new shaft in with clean threads and torque the flange bolts to the factory spec, then check the transfer case and front differential fluid levels and road test in 2WD and 4WD.
