XTOOL IP500 BMW/MINI/Rolls-Royce Bidirectional Scan Tool

The XTOOL IP500 (model IP500-BMR) is a BMW-family full-system scan tool built for the two jobs a generic OBD2 reader cannot finish on these cars: it does bidirectional actuator tests and it runs the adaptation resets the DME/TCM needs after you touch a part. It reads and clears codes across 30-plus modules (engine, transmission, ABS, SRS, DSC, FRM, CAS, BMS) and graphs up to four live PIDs at once, so a slipping shift, a limp-mode complaint, or an intermittent electrical fault gets traced instead of guessed.

For driveline work the function that matters most is Transmission Reset (adaptive reset): after you replace a mechatronic/valve body, service the ZF 8HP, or swap solenoids, it clears the old shift adaptations so the box relearns clean instead of hanging onto worn-part shift patterns. It also handles the jobs that normally send an F- or G-chassis BMW to the dealer: AGM/lithium battery registration to kill the 2DE0 / increased-battery-discharge warnings, EPB service-mode release for rear brake jobs, ABS bleeding, throttle and crank relearn, steering-angle calibration, injector coding, and oil-service reset. Bidirectional control lets you command fuel pumps, window motors, EPB caliper motors, and lights to isolate a failing part before you buy it.
