A two-stage telescoping pedestal jack rated at 1,100 lb (half ton), built for pulling and installing automatic transmissions, transfer cases and differentials with the vehicle on a two-post or four-post lift. The ram telescopes from 33.5 in. collapsed to 67 in. fully extended, so it reaches up to a truck or SUV on a full-height lift and still drops low enough to roll a unit out from under a car.
The hydraulic pump is foot-operated, which is the point on a transmission job: both hands stay on the case while you raise it into the bellhousing dowels. The saddle tilts to match the drivetrain angle, and the included chain/strap anchor lets you secure the unit before you pull the last bellhousing bolts. A release valve lets the load down under control instead of dropping it.
On the bench side of a swap (4L60E, 4L80E, 68RFE, 6R80, 700R4 and similar), the routine is: support the pan rail on the saddle, strap the case, take the jack up just enough to unload the crossmember, remove the crossmember and converter bolts, then lower slowly while you watch cooler lines and harness connectors. Four swivel casters let you walk the unit out and line it back up on install.
The jack weighs about 97 lb and ships on a pallet-style carton, so plan on some assembly of the base and casters.
