Complete 5HP19FL valve body with all 7 solenoids for FWD Audi 01V units, curing harsh shifts, TCC shudder and delayed engagement.
This is a complete ZF 5HP19FL valve body assembly for the FWD Audi/VW 01V five-speed automatic, supplied with all seven solenoids already fitted and pressure tested. It is the single oil passage version, which is the correct casting series for the front-wheel-drive 01V unit — it is not the 5HP19 unit used behind BMW inline sixes and it will not work in a quattro/4Motion car or an 01J CVT.
Fitment covers 1996-2001 Audi A4 B5 with the 1.8T and 2.8L V6, 1997-2004 Audi A6 C5 with the 2.4L, 2.8L and 3.0L, and 1998-2005 VW Passat B5 and B5.5 with the 1.8T and 2.8L. Check the transmission code stamped on the case for "01V" before ordering — the same body shells were sold with 01J CVT and quattro 5HP19 units that use a different valve body entirely. The solenoid set is 3 green (0501 316 463), 3 black (0501 210 019) and 1 yellow (0501 210 725), matching OE numbering.
This is the fix for the classic 01V complaints: a hard or flaring 1-2 shift, torque converter clutch shudder at light throttle around 45 mph, delayed engagement into drive when cold, and slipping under part throttle. Those symptoms usually come from worn solenoid windings and scored bores in the separator plate area, which is why swapping individual solenoids into a worn body often only helps for a few thousand miles.
On the bench the transmission has to come out. Drop the pan, unplug the internal harness at the solenoid connectors, pull the valve body bolts in a spiral from the outside in, and lower the body straight down so the check balls and separator plate stay put. Install the new body dry, torque the bolts to the factory spec in the reverse pattern so the case does not warp, replace the pan gasket and filter, refill with the correct fluid, and then run a TCU adaptation with VCDS or OBDeleven. Skipping the adaptation is the number one reason a good valve body still shifts badly on the first drive.
