AISIN CKT-024 Clutch Kit for Toyota Pickup 22R

The AISIN CKT-024 is a complete OE-matched clutch kit for the 1981-1988 Toyota Pickup and the 1985-1988 Toyota 4Runner. AISIN builds the clutches these trucks left the factory with, so the clamp load and pedal feel match what the truck had new instead of the grabby, short-lived engagement you get out of budget kits.

The box has everything the job needs: clutch cover (pressure plate), a friction disc with heat-resistant, low-abrasion facings, the release (throwout) bearing, a pilot bearing or bushing where the application uses one, and a vehicle-specific alignment tool so the disc centers on the flywheel before you lift the transmission back in. The cover and disc are matched and balanced as a set.

Replace the whole kit when the truck slips in fourth or fifth under throttle, chatters pulling away from a stop, drags enough that it grinds going into first or reverse, or the pedal squeals from a worn release bearing. Bolting a new disc to a glazed pressure plate or reusing an old throwout bearing is what puts the transmission back on the floor six months later. Resurface or replace the flywheel while it is exposed, and tighten the cover bolts a little at a time in a cross pattern so the cover does not distort.
