Threads into the fill plug on sealed automatics so a transfer pump can push ATF uphill into the case, with 32 adapters and a brass coupler.
Sealed automatics do not have a dipstick tube. The only way fluid goes in is through the fill or level plug on the side of the pan or case, and that plug sits below the fluid line, so gravity is working against you. This kit gives you the threaded adapter that screws into that port and a brass quick-connect that mates to a standard ATF transfer or refill pump, so you can push fluid up into the case instead of trying to pour it.
Thirty-two aluminum adapters cover the common fill port threads and shapes across GM 6L80, 8L90 and 10L80, Ford 6R and 10R units, ZF 8HP, Mercedes 722.9 and 725.0, Nissan and Infiniti CVT and 7-speed units, VW and Audi 09G and DSG, plus Toyota, Lexus, Honda, BMW, Porsche, Volvo and Citroen applications. The adapters are turned aluminum alloy rather than plastic, so they take pump pressure and repeated install and remove cycles without splitting at the threads.
Bench use is straightforward: get the transmission to the temperature the service data calls for, pull the fill or level plug, thread in the adapter that matches, snap the brass coupler onto your pump hose and pump fluid until it starts running back out of the port. Then disconnect, pull the adapter and put the plug back in with a new seal. The blow molded case has numbered slots and a printed reference chart so you are not test fitting six adapters to find the right one on a car sitting on the lift.
