RE5R05A Transmission Control Module TCM Nissan Infiniti

This is the standalone transmission control unit for the Jatco RE5R05A five-speed rear-wheel-drive automatic. On this transmission the TCM is a separate Bosch module that lives outside the case and talks to the solenoid pack through the case connector, so when the module itself fails you get transmission symptoms with a perfectly good valve body sitting in the pan. This unit is a remanufactured module that replaces 0260550002 / 3104090X10 and carries a one year warranty.

Fitment per the manufacturer: Nissan Armada, Frontier and Xterra, Infiniti G35 and G37, and Hyundai Genesis with the RE5R05A. Cross-referenced numbers are RE5R05A, 0260550002, 3261099309, A5SR1 and A5SR2. Pull your original module and match the number stamped on the housing before you order. These units were built in several revisions and the wrong revision will not behave, so the printed number on your old unit is the only thing worth trusting.

The failure pattern that sends techs here is the one that survives a valve body job: solenoid circuit codes that come straight back after the solenoid pack is replaced, a truck that will not upshift out of third, harsh or delayed engagement into drive and reverse, or a transmission that drops into limp the moment it warms up. Those are driver-stage failures inside the module, and no amount of clutch or valve body work will fix them. Before you condemn the module, check the case connector and the harness for fluid intrusion, because ATF wicking up the wiring kills these modules and will kill the replacement too if you do not clean it up.

Installation is a swap: disconnect the battery, unplug the module, transfer it to the new unit and torque the mounting hardware. Depending on year and platform the module may need to be initialized with a scan tool and the transmission adaptives reset, so plan on a bidirectional tool and a road test to relearn shift pressures before you hand the vehicle back.
