RE5R05A Transmission Filter & Gasket Kit, Nissan/Infiniti

This is the pan filter and pan gasket service kit for the Nissan and Infiniti RE5R05A five-speed automatic (also cross-referenced as A5SR1 on some builds). It replaces OE part 31728-97X00 and covers the interchange numbers B-327, JT510, FCRE5R05A, 15513, 15538, F255, FK384, 46240-4C000 and V530207. The kit is one pickup filter plus one 22-bolt pan gasket — exactly what you pull off during a fluid-and-filter service.

Fitment runs deep across the RWD Nissan/Infiniti V6 and V8 lineup: 2003-2009 350Z 3.5L, 2005-2015 Armada 5.6L, 2005-2015 Frontier 2.5L and 4.0L, 2005-2015 Xterra 4.0L, 2004-2015 Titan 5.6L, 2005-2012 Pathfinder 4.0L/5.6L, 2012-2015 NV1500/NV2500/NV3500 vans, plus Infiniti EX35, FX35, FX45, G35, G37, M35, M45, Q45 and QX56. If your VIN runs the RE5R05A 5-speed, confirm the pan matches the 22-bolt gasket in the photos before ordering — a handful of years switched pans mid-run.

On the bench: drop the pan, scrape the old gasket, and clean the pan and magnet before anything else. Pull the old filter straight down, lube the new filter's O-ring or seal so it seats without tearing, and push it home by hand until it stops. Lay the new gasket on a clean pan, hand-thread all bolts, then torque them in a crossing pattern to the factory spec — over-torquing warps the flange and starts the leak you were trying to fix. Refill with the correct Nissan Matic fluid through the fill plug or dipstick tube and check level at operating temperature.

A clogged or bypassing filter is what starves the RE5R05A of line pressure and shows up as delayed engagement, harsh 1-2 shifts, or slipping under load. Fresh fluid alone will not fix a filter that is already restricted, so the filter and gasket go together every service.
