The kit fits most American and import 2WD and 4WD cars and light pickups that use press-fit ball joints. The included 4x4 adapter opens it up to 1967-through-current half-ton and three-quarter-ton four-wheel-drive trucks running the Dana 30 or Dana 44 front axle, which covers a lot of Ford, GM, Dodge, IHC, and Jeep iron. On unibody cars you press the joint out of the control arm on the bench; on a solid-axle truck you can work it right at the knuckle without dropping the axle.

Work it with a hand wrench or breaker bar, not an impact, and lube the forcing-screw threads before you load it. That one habit is the difference between a press that lasts years and one that galls its threads on the first stubborn joint. Take a beat to get the cup and receiving tube squared to the joint before you put weight on the screw so you are pressing straight and not cocking the part in its bore.
