TransJel is the original mineral-based transmission assembly lube (Filtran part number 801206), a firm-tack red gel builders reach for on every rebuild. At room temperature it stays put and will not run or drip, so needle bearings, thrust washers, and steel sealing rings sit exactly where you set them while you slide the next drum or housing on.

Use it the way a rebuilder does: smear it on a thrust washer to stick it to the back of a drum, dab it in a bore to hold a needle bearing while you index the planet, or wipe a thin film on an O-ring or lip seal so the seal slides into its bore without rolling or pinching. Because it is tacky rather than slippery, parts stay where you place them instead of dropping into the pan the moment you flip the case over.

The gel is fully soluble in ATF and liquefies at roughly 143F (62C), so once the transmission reaches operating temperature it melts into the fluid and will not re-solidify. It is formulated not to clog the filter or leave residue in felt-media filters, which is why it is safe to use in quantity through a complete rebuild. One-pound (16 oz) tub, ships from the USA.
