When an automatic transmission fails, the debris does not stay in the case. Burnt clutch material, metal shavings, and cooked fluid get pushed out to the cooler and the steel cooler lines, and a radiator-mounted cooler is nearly impossible to clean by hand. Bolt a fresh rebuilt or reman unit to dirty lines and that trapped debris circulates right back through the new clutches and valve body. Kooler Kleen is what you run to stop that comeback.
The 13.25 oz aerosol pushes a solvent charge through the cooler and line circuit under pressure, breaking loose grease, dirt, sludge, grime, and metal particles and carrying them out the return side. It flashes off completely, so it leaves no water or soapy residue behind to contaminate the fresh ATF. It will not harm seals or O-rings and will not degrade new automatic transmission fluid, so you can flush, blow the lines dry with shop air, and fill.
Standard practice on any rebuild, reman swap, or torque converter replacement: disconnect both cooler lines, run the flush through the cooler circuit until it comes out clean, then follow with compressed air to clear the solvent.
