If your Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury automatic specs Mercon LV, this is the fluid it was designed around. Motorcraft's XT-10-QLVC is the genuine low-viscosity ATF that runs in the 6R60, 6R75, 6R80, 6F35, and most late-model 6-speed and 10-speed Ford automatics. Substituting a generic multi-vehicle fluid is where a lot of shudder and harsh-shift complaints start, so if the pan or dipstick says Mercon LV, put Mercon LV back in it.

It is dyed red so you can spot a leak at a glance, and it is built on hydroprocessed base oils with an additive package tuned for clean shifts across a wide temperature range, good cold-weather flow, and protection against rust, wear, and varnish buildup.
