Pulls used ATF, gear oil, or engine oil out through the dipstick tube or fill plug at 1-4 L/min on 12V power, with no shop air needed.
Most fluid extractors on a shop shelf need a compressor. This one does not. It clips straight to a 12 volt battery with the copper-plated alligator leads and runs a 100 watt motor at 1 to 4 liters per minute, so you can pull used automatic transmission fluid, gear oil, or engine oil out through the dipstick tube or the fill plug anywhere you can reach a battery. That covers driveway work, a mobile van, a farm shop with no air line, and the trailside oil change on a side-by-side or generator.
The pump head is aluminum rather than the molded plastic used on the cheap units, which matters because hot ATF and gear oil soften plastic housings and warp the impeller clearance until flow drops off. Hookup is threaded quick-connect on both ports, so the hose goes on by hand with no clamps or tools. The kit ships with a 1.5 meter flexible hose, 6 mm inlet and 10 mm outlet, a hose clamp, a 1.4 meter power cord with battery clips, and a foam-lined case. Overall footprint is 11.8 by 9.4 by 4.1 inches and about 5.8 pounds, so it lives in a toolbox drawer instead of taking a corner of the bench.
The usual bench use is evacuation, not filling. Feed the small hose down the dipstick tube or into the fill port, drop the discharge into a drain jug, and let it pull the pan down before you drop it, which keeps you from wearing four quarts of ATF when the last pan bolt lets go. It also works for pulling fluid off a sealed unit that has no drain plug, and for topping off a differential or transfer case where the fill hole faces a frame rail and a squeeze bottle will not reach. It moves engine oil, gear oil, and ATF; it is not made for gasoline, diesel, or any solvent.
