Full master overhaul kit for the GM 4L30E four-speed automatic: frictions, steel plates, gaskets and seals to rebuild BMW, Isuzu, Honda and Cadillac units.
This is a complete master rebuild kit for the GM Hydra-Matic 4L30-E, the longitudinal rear-wheel-drive four-speed automatic GM built for import platforms and badged variously as the AR25, AR35 and THM 4L30-E. One box carries the friction clutch plates, the hardened steel plates, the full gasket and seal set, and the sealing rings, so a bench overhaul is covered without chasing individual part numbers. It replaces OE overhaul number 4L30E TROO5.
Fitment runs across the whole family that used this transmission: BMW 318i, 323i, 325i, 328i, 525i, 528i and Z3 from 1991 through 2000; Cadillac Catera 3.0L 1997-2001; Acura SLX 3.2/3.5L 1996-1999; Honda Passport 2.6/3.2L 1994-2002; and Isuzu Rodeo, Trooper, Amigo, Axiom and VehiCROSS 1991-2004. It is the same core unit across all of them, which is why one kit covers the group.
Reach for it when a 4L30E is slipping in the clutches, flaring on the shift, or coming apart for a high-mileage refresh where new frictions and a fresh seal set are cheaper than a reman unit. Soak the new friction plates in ATF before assembly, replace every sealing ring on the drums and pump, and set the pan gasket last. The friction material and steels are cut to OE thickness so clutch clearances come back in spec on reassembly.
